Daniel Gerlach holds degrees in History and Middle Eastern from the universities of Hamburg and Paris IV Sorbonne. He specialised in Middle Eastern history and politics and works as an author, analyst and political advisor on the MENA region. Currently, his main work focus is on Syria, Iraq and Libya. He is the co-founder of the independent Berlin based think tank Candid Foundation and editor in chief of the Middle East magazine zenith.
