Daniel Sachs is a Swedish business leader, investor, and philanthropist working at the intersection of finance, democracy, and inclusive growth. He is the founder and CEO of P Capital Partners, a leading Northern European private credit firm providing long-term, bespoke financing to entrepreneurial and family-owned businesses. With more than three decades of experience in private markets, Sachs is a prominent voice on European competitiveness and capital allocation, advocating for stronger primary capital mechanisms to support the continent’s “missing middle” of high-growth SMEs.
Beyond business, Sachs is a leading figure in global democratic development. He serves as Vice Chair of the Open Society Foundations (OSF) and Chair of its Investment Committee. OSF is the world’s largest private funder dedicated to advancing justice, democratic governance, human rights, and independent media.
Sachs is the founder of the Daniel Sachs Foundation and a driving force and founder behind organisations such as the Better Politics Foundation, Better Politics Fund, the Trustees and Höj Rösten, which work globally to renew democratic leadership, strengthen civic and political participation, and rebuild trust in political institutions through non-partisan and multi-partisan approaches. He co-founded F1RST, in partnership with the Stockholm School of Economics, creating a national infrastructure for structural, meritocratic and inclusive pathways from education to employment for underrepresented youth.
He serves on the board of Wallenberg Investments AB, is a founding member of the European Council on Foreign Relations and a member of the Dean’s Circle at the Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford. A World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Sachs is also active in culture and the arts, including film production through Kärnfilm.
