From 2005, co-designed and led the Packard Foundation's Amazon Carbon Initiative. 2008-09, Senior Adviser, ClimateWorks/Packard Foundation Forest Carbon Strategy, helping design and lead the implementation of grant making and related policy initiatives to catalyse reductions in greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+). Currently, Director of Programs of the Climate and Land Use Alliance. Has been a consultant to the World Bank, USAID, and the United Nations University, among others. Author of more than 50 publications on tropical forest ecology and management, carbon and nutrient cycling, natural resource management and policy, and the interface between tropical deforestation and climate change.
