David Agus, a pioneering doctor and biomedical researcher, is a professor of medicine and biomedical engineering at the Keck School of Medicine and the Viterbi School of Engineering of the University of Southern California. He is also the founding director and CEO of the Ellison Medical Institute. A medical oncologist, Dr. Agus leads a multidisciplinary team of researchers dedicated to the development and use of therapies and technologies to improve the care of patients and prevent disease. Known internationally for developing new approaches for personalized health care, Dr. Agus serves in leadership roles at the World Economic Forum and the Global Health Security Consortium. He is a CBS News contributor and the author of four bestselling books. He is a 2017 recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
