Dr. David von Rosen-von Hoewel is an international investor, entrepreneur, and the Principal of the VONROSEN family office. He’s founded globally successful businesses in fintech, gaming, fashion, insurance and real estate.

Through VONROSEN, he invests in businesses across the globe with a strong focus on edtech, renewable energy, nutrition, defense, and mobility. Investing in early-stage businesses, he has an appetite for high-risk investments and usually takes a majority share.

In 2024, David appeared on Bilanz’s annual list of the 300 richest Swiss as one of the youngest billionaires.

He has founded several gaming and gambling companies around the world, including Gibraltar-based Lottoland in 2013, which now serves over 18 million customers, and is licensed in 15 markets worldwide. Lottoland holds the Guinness World Record for the largest ever online payout in history of €90mn.

More recently, von Rosen founded 25 Degrees, a super prime property development company specialising in bespoke residential properties in Dubai.

In 2008, he was selected as a ‘Young Global Leader’ by the World Economic Forum in Davos, a programme that brings people together with the ‘vision, courage, and influence to drive positive change in the world’.

In the same year, he founded online and membership-based fashion label VONROSEN, which produced high-end fashion basics. Their items included the VONROSEN black turtleneck pullover worn by Steve Jobs as he unveiled the iCloud at the WWDC conference in 2011.

Von Rosen established his first entrepreneurial success with CareerConcept, an innovative higher education funding business, in 2002.

Currently based in Dubai and Switzerland, von Rosen was born and raised in Germany. He studied economics and business at the European Business School and later gained a PhD in Economics from the University of Economics in Prague in 2007.
