I person with many hats.
First and foremost I am Ngaati Irakehu and Ngati Mako, my tribal affiliations, of New Zealand. In many ways it is a family and community business which has had a presence for 100s of years. My work include traditional food gathering, policy lobbying, training the next generation, speaking at conferences, writing funding proposals, organisation a tour delegation to Japan, writing a budget, stocking up the community fridge with smoked eel. What needs to be done we serve our generation and those to come after us.
I also an a hobby artist, painting and carving.
However....
I current am advising the UK energy regulator on long-term infrastructure including risks, horizon scanning and policy and delivery alignment.
I am also Climate Reality Leader and mentor. Trained under the leadership of Al Gore and the global work from the organisation.
I have spent six years in government across the natural resource sector on policy and organisation development.
Previous experience
Co-chair Generation Zero - a climate justice organisation focused on policy lobbying. Created the Climate Change Response (Zero Carbon) Amendment Act 2019 which led to New Zealand setting targets and being legal accountable to them.
Board member Community Research - uplift and empower research in communities including promoting on their platform. They also demystify and complicated academic research in a way that connects with the community.
