Elena Stachew

Community Champion, US Midwest

Elena Stachew is the Founder and Principal of Adenium Consulting LLC, a social impact and environmental services consulting firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. Adenium is an interdisciplinary expert collaborative that advises, designs, and provides direct technical support to mission-oriented organizations, those committed to lasting impact for the communities, people, and ecosystems they serve. Our areas of focus include (1) nonprofit operations management, (2) community engagement and facilitation, (3) sustainability and environment, (4) social impact program development, and (5) strategic planning. We also offer (6) short-term, surge grant writing support and (7) climate change science and education workshops through the Climate Fresk international platform. Adenium has worked with local governments, nonprofits, green banks, regional governmental agencies, and the industries of energy aggregation and steel and aluminum manufacturing. Elena has a background in polymer and materials science engineering from Case Western Reserve University with graduate training in Biomimicry and ecological restoration from The University of Akron, with a particular emphasis on freshwater coastal restoration. Elena has worked in both mining and manufacturing and in ecological restoration, as well as a volunteer engineer and project manager for Engineers Without Borders. Elena believes in the power of people and nature and is a passionate advocate for local-led solutions, community-driven project design, and regenerative and multi-functional built landscapes that positively contribute to the rehabilitation of the natural world. Elena has been the Midwest USA Community Champion for Global Shapers Community since July 2024, a Global Shaper since September 2017, a Climate Reality Leader since October 2022, and a Climate Fresk Facilitator since August 2023.
