More than 33 years serving in electrical interconnection, energy strategies and policies, preparation of technical agreements and protocols, energy planning studies, computer aided management for projects and electric network design, project management in electric networks, renewable energy and testing facilities. Has held various posts, including First Undersecretary of State, Ministry of Electricity and Energy of Egypt; General Manager, Training and Promotion, New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA); Director, Photovoltaic Research and Testing Department, Cairo; Associate Professor, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; Director, Specifications Department, NREA, Cairo. Currently, Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, African Union Commission.
