Emirhan Samancı is pursuing studies in economics at the University of Glasgow, focusing on political economy and political systems.
He currently serves as Curator of the Edinburgh Hub of the Global Shapers Community for the 2025-2026 term and is a Global Shaper. Within the Edinburgh Hub, he currently leads an initiative on AI ethics and misinformation and previously co-led a project examining the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on young people in Scotland.
He has worked at the Türkiye Wealth Fund, contributing to analysis across strategic assets in technology and telecommunications.
He serves in board and trustee roles across nonprofit organisations and is a Climate Reality Leader. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Common Futures Conversations initiative at Chatham House (the Royal Institute of International Affairs).
His primary areas of interest include political economy, geopolitics, and sustainability, with a focus on the green transition and energy security.
