Twenty-five years' experience in public health research with a focus on prevention of non-communicable disease, health policy and practice in Australia, the UK and the US. Formerly with: Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, US; several academic institutions; World Health Organization (WHO). Currently, provides expert consultancy to WHO. Interests include: global health; impact of the built environment on healthy lifestyles; using research evidence to inform programmes, local and national planning and policy to create healthy, active and sustainable communities and cities.
