Dr. Fonthip Watcharaporn received her Doctor of Medicine (MD) Degree from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. She had been a research assistant at Mahidol University Global Health (MUGH) for 2 years. Then, she has been an assistant director and medical physician at the Institute for Urban Disease Control and Prevention (IUDC), Ministry of Public Health Thailand. Currently, she is a Dean's and MPH awardee for full-time MPH program at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public health focusing on aging, health leadership and management, and health system and policy. She is most passionate about reforming all aspects of Thailand's health system especially via public health advocacy and health innovation development. She has led and collaborated in many projects regarding healthcare to create positive social impacts. She has received awards and recognitions from national and international programs related to health policies and health innovations such as champ of the champ in the topic of reforming Thailand’s health system organized by Future Innovative Thailand Institute (FIT), winner of Redesign Thailand 2 in health theme hosted by Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), first runner-up award in health innovation competition by Thai Health Promotion Foundation, top 10 finalists of MIT Enterprise Forum (MITEF) Thailand and bronze award from UNLEASH innovation lab in SDG3. She was also selected to be Thailand's representative to engage in numerous international conferences such as Thailand’s representative to draft and propose the resolutions at World Health Assembly 71st in Geneva, Young Global Changer to exchange experiences at the Think 20 summit: Global Solutions in Berlin, ChangemakerXchange in Malaysia and Singapore, and also Thailand’s talent to join UNLEASH innovation lab in Denmark and Singapore. She was also nominated as IAP Young Physician Leader and was a panelist in World Health Summit 2019 in Berlin. In 2020, she was selected to be the youngest academic subcommittee of Thailand National Health Assembly 13th-14th to advocate public health policy through the Participatory Public Policy Process based on Wisdom. Additionally, apart from the aforementioned experiences, she used to be a co-founder of 2 health tech startups prioritizing medical big data and IoT health cloud, and bionanotechnology respectively. What she wants to achieve most is to create "Universal Accessibility" in Thailand’s health system so that everyone will have an equity to access quality healthcare regardless of any limitations.
