Gabi Dreo holds the Chair of Communication Systems and Network Security at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich. She is the Founding Director of the Research Institute CODE (Cyber Defence), a member of the Supervisory Board and Advisory Board of Giesecke+Devrient GmbH, and a member of the Supervisory Board of BWI GmbH. In addition, she is, among other roles, a member of the Digital Advisory Council of the Federal Ministry of Defence, a member of the Data Protection Advisory Board of Deutsche Telekom AG, a member of the University Council of Hochschule Fresenius, Co-Chair of the Digital Committee of the Wirtschaftsbeirat Bayern e.V., a member of the Executive Board of the Munich Security Network e.V., a member of the Advisory Board of Deutschland Sicher im Netz e.V., a member of the Security Innovation Board of the Munich Security Conference, a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Center for Cyber Defence and Information Security at KTH, Sweden, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Edith Haberland Wagner Foundation, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Kunsthalle of the Hypo Cultural Foundation. Furthermore, she served as the coordinator of the EU H2020 project CONCORDIA (https://www.concordia-h2020.eu), which involved a total of 56 partner organizations. In 2016, she was awarded the Bavarian European Medal. Gabi Dreo studied computer science at the University of Maribor, Slovenia, and earned her PhD and habilitation from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Her research interests include AI-driven network security, AI-based risk management, cyber resilience, software-defined networks, and 5G/6G technologies.
