Dr. Gianvito Vilé is a Group Leader and the Head of the Innovation Lab for Sustainable Process Intensification at the Politecnico di Milano. His research combines chemistry and engineering methods to design eco-friendly chemical processes for pharmaceutical and environmental applications. Before joining the Politecnico di Milano, he was a Lab Head at Idorsia Pharmaceuticals. He obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at ETH Zurich. Dr. Vilé has published various articles in high-impact scientific journals. For his research, he has received numerous awards, including the nomination as "Influential Researcher in Chemical Engineering" by the American Chemical Society, the Felder Award by the Bracco Foundation, the Dimitris N. Chorafas award for Chemical Engineering by the Weizmann Institute of Sciences, and the ETH Zurich Medal. He is an Editorial Board Member of Current Catalysis and has served as Guest Editor of Catalysis Today. He also acts as Peer Reviewer for leading scientific journals, including Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, and ACS Catalysis. He is the Principal Investigator of three research projects funded by the Bracco pharmaceutical company. In the past, he has participated and coordinated research projects at the local and international level, financed by the Swiss National Foundation, by Idorsia Pharmaceuticals, and by the European Union.
