Giulia Pusceddu

Global Shaper, Genoa Hub

Hi there, I'm Giulia!
I'm a researcher in robotics and a member of the Global Shapers Genoa Hub, working on reskill-for-the-future projects to amplify youth representation in one of the cities in Europe with the highest average population age.
Here, making young voices heard is not always easy, but we don't give up.
Together with my Hub, I design initiatives for high school and university students to help them grow, find opportunities, and make their talents visible.

Many of history's breakthroughs were made by young minds: Marconi invented the radio at 20, Einstein published his groundbreaking papers at 26, Curie discovered radium and polonium at 31.
Imagine how many brilliant ideas we risk losing in our city simply because we do not give young people the trust and support they need to emerge.
Coming from a modest background myself (I am the first university graduate in my family), I know how vital these opportunities are.

Thanks to hard work, support from my friends and family, and a bit of luck, I studied bioengineering and now I hold a PhD in Cognitive Robotics, Interaction, and Rehabilitation Technologies from the Italian Institute of Technology, where I now continue as a postdoc researcher. My work focuses on inclusive technologies for education and human-robot interaction, with the goal of building collaborative robots to improve people's lives.
