Gokul Nair is a digital marketer and advertising professional. Currently, he works for the Silicon Valley startup Way.com, an automotive marketplace simplifying car ownership for Americans. He is trained in marketing, media, and communications, and has worked across journalism, advertising, and digital communications. Previously, he was the Features Correspondent for The New Indian Express, a leading newspaper in India.
Gokul has been a WEF Global Shaper since 2020. He has served in two leadership roles within the Thiruvananthapuram Hub - first as Impact Officer (2021-22) and then as Curator (2022-23). During his tenure, the Hub piloted the COVID Consortium Project (a public-private partnership for COVID relief), conducted SAAGA (a women-led conclave for networking and skill development), and launched a Marine Litter Segregation Project for cleaning up plastic from the city's beaches.
He is a strong believer in the concept of radically networked societies and their role in generating social change. He was previously the Corporate Relations Fellow for Make A Difference (MAD), a non-profit working to improve educational outcomes for children in India, and President of Uni-Y Trivandrum (the youth and social outreach wing of YMCA).
In his free time, he reads about startups, business frameworks, and political economy - the intersection of state, markets, and society.
