Degree in Agricultural Engineering; Postgraduate in Development Economics, Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. Former: Senior Lecturer, Sokoine University, Tanzania; agriculturist, Gabon. Since 1992, with FAO; former Chief, Africa Service; currently, Deputy Director, Investment Centre; represents FAO in the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development, the Steering Committee of the Global Agricultural and Food Security Program (GAFSP), the NEPAD/CAADP Development Partners' Task Team, and the Post-2015 Development Agenda and Third International Conference on Financing for Development. Interests: sustainable approaches to agricultural production and land management; food systems, climate smart agriculture, institutional development and development effectiveness.
