Hadeer Shalaby is the Director of Careem Bus, a vertical focused on mass transport. She was previously Director of Category Management, focusing on new categories, innovation and streams of growth. Her mission involves ensuring Careem’s affordability and bringing shared transportation and mobility to millions of people. Hadeer was selected as one of the Top 50 most influential women in Egypt in 2016.

She started with Careem as the General Manager in Egypt building the Careem brand in the market while leading and growing the team. Prior to joining Careem, Hadeer was the CEO and Founder of Taxi Al Sahel that offered a ride hailing service for the first time in the North Coast, Egypt. In April 2015, Careem acquired Taxi Al Sahel.

Hadeer earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from The American University in Cairo (AUC).
