Hafiz is a medical doctor with over seven years of progressive experience in planning and implementing Health Systems Strengthening, RMNCH+N, TB/HIV, and immunization (childhood preventable diseases and COVID-19) programs funded by USAID, FCDO, BMGF, MacArthur Foundation and Global Fund, in both humanitarian and development sectors; working closely with stakeholders in private and public sectors to improve service delivery, leadership and governance and financing in the health sector. With a track record of driving access to quality healthcare to ~70,000 pregnant women.
Currently works with Pathfinder, where he Provides technical advisory for the $4.8 million Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation-funded GeoST4R Investment aimed at revolutionizing Primary Health Care (PHC) microplanning and decision support through the deployment of geospatial and AI-enabled solutions and strengthening the use of PHC operational data.
Prior to his current work, he has led the following projects:
1. USAID-funded project: Supporting the governments of 3 Northern states to achieve epidemic control of HIV through increasing access to quality HIV services, governance and institutional capacity building, and management of health service delivery.
2. MacArthur Foundation Grant: $1.5 million grant to drive COVID-19 vaccine acceptance, uptake, and utilization in FCT, Kano, and Kaduna through technical assistance to the government on vaccine deployment and logistics, risk communication, and community engagement.
3. USAID-funded project: Supporting the governments of Lagos and Kano states to improve case finding and treatment of Tuberculosis by leveraging the capacity of private sector networks.
