Chief Executive Officer, Marlan Space

Dr. Hamdullah Mohib is Acting CEO of Orbitworks and CEO of Marlan Space, positioning the UAE as a platform for commercial space manufacturing, investment, and international collaboration. Marlan Space operates as an investor–operator, combining direct industrial capability with strategic capital deployment to build resilient space infrastructure across global markets.

At Orbitworks, he leads satellite manufacturing and delivery for customers across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, supporting sovereign access to space and strengthening interoperability across emerging space ecosystems. Through Marlan’s Frontier Fund, he directs investment in next-generation space technologies, aligning capital with operational expertise to scale companies across the space value chain.

Dr. Mohib brings a rare combination of technical depth and diplomatic experience. He previously served as Afghanistan’s Ambassador to the United States and later as National Security Adviser to the President, where he worked at the intersection of security, technology, and international cooperation.

His technical career began at Intel in the UK, followed by academic and executive roles as Assistant Professor and Chief Technology Officer at the American University of Afghanistan. He holds a BEng in computer systems engineering and a PhD from Brunel University, with doctoral research focused on end-to-end 3D video transmission over heterogeneous networks.

Recognised as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, Dr. Mohib brings a global perspective to advancing responsible growth, industrial cooperation, and leadership in the commercial space sector.
