Helen Stoop is an accomplished healthcare leader with over 20 years of global experience in market access, public affairs, and patient advocacy. Currently, she serves as the Senior Director and Head of Public Affairs for the Global Vaccines Business Unit at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where she builds impactful strategies that position Takeda as a trusted global health partner and responsible vaccine manufacturer.

Helen’s career is marked by her ability to drive innovation and collaboration. In her current role, she has spearheaded a comprehensive global public affairs strategy, focusing on raising awareness of dengue risks, advancing preventive vaccination efforts, and positioning Takeda at the forefront of health challenges linked to climate change. Her leadership extends to engaging with multisector stakeholders, including IFPMA and Japanese government institutions, to solidify Takeda’s reputation in the vaccines ecosystem.

Prior to this, Helen led patient advocacy strategies for Europe and Canada, fostering award-winning partnerships such as her collaboration with the European Society of Organ Transplantation, which earned the EUCAN President’s Award in 2022. She also has deep expertise in market access, headed tender management teams, and pioneered initiatives that expanded revenue growth and improved patient engagement during her roles at Shire and Takeda.

Her earlier professional journey includes significant contributions to Novo Nordisk and Cubist Pharmaceuticals, where she developed market access strategies, guided pricing frameworks, and collaborated with key stakeholders to achieve positive health technology assessments. Helen’s leadership and insight have also been recognized in her consultancy background, where she delivered impactful market access solutions for therapies in oncology, anticoagulation, and hepatitis B.

Helen holds an MBA from the London Business School and University of California, Berkeley, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) from the University of Nottingham. A lifelong learner, she has enhanced her leadership skills through certifications at Yale School of Management and Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Outside of work, Helen is a passionate endurance athlete, participating in marathons and triathlons across Europe and beyond, including a Half Ironman in Switzerland.
