Ifeanyi Chukwudi

Curator, Abuja Hub

Ifeanyi Chukwudi is an international development professional and public policy specialist with experience spanning strategy consulting, government affairs, and development programming. His work sits at the intersection of public policy, geopolitics, and natural resource governance, with a focus on how critical minerals trade, industrial policy, and resource governance can be leveraged to support economic growth and poverty reduction in Africa.

He currently leads the Development Programme at the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), where he oversees multi-country initiatives on critical minerals governance, energy transition, climate change, conflict, and public accountability across West Africa. His portfolio includes the design and management of large, donor-funded programmes examining governance risks, market dynamics, and policy choices shaping development in Africa.

Ifeanyi also consulted for the United Kingdom Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNIAF), providing economic and financial modelling support to Nigeria’s Rural Electrification Agency on climate-smart off-grid and mini-grid interconnection planning. He contributed to the evaluation of 40 rural mini-grid sites, assessing technical feasibility, economic viability, and social impact, and supported business case development and market engagement to inform government and donor investment decisions.

Before moving into international development, Ifeanyi worked in strategy consulting and government affairs, advising public and private sector organisations on policy, strategy, and regulatory stakeholder engagement. During his time at the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, he was part of the founding team that conceptualised and launched the Legislative Mentorship Initiative (LMI), managing a fellowship programme to train aspiring legislators.

Ifeanyi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Nigeria and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the London School of Economics as a Hosh Ibrahim Scholar and a Fellow of the Firoz Lalji Institute for Africa’s Program for African Leadership.

He is a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, serves as Curator of the Abuja Hub of the Global Shapers Community, sits on the board of the Startup Knowledge Development Foundation, and has shared insights on geopolitics, development, and economic transformation at high-level convenings, including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.
