Ivo H. Daalder is a Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard Kennedy School and served as President and CEO of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs from 2013 to 2025. A former U.S. Permanent Representative to NATO from 2009 to 2013, he previously served on the U.S. National Security Council and held senior research positions at the Brookings Institution. His work focuses on U.S. foreign policy, transatlantic relations, European security, geopolitics and international order. He is the author and co-author of numerous books on foreign and national security policy and a frequent commentator on international affairs.
