Chief Risk Officer, United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF)

Jacob van der Blij is UNICEF's Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and Director in the Office of the Executive Director at New York Headquarters. Leading the corporate risk office and working with a network of risk management practitioners across 190 countries and territories, he identifies systemic and emerging risks requiring a corporate-wide response and champions good risk management practices and lessons learnt across the organization. Before UNICEF, he was Head of Risk at Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and was a management consultant in Switzerland and the Netherlands, advising large corporations as well as international organizations. He holds a Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, a post-graduate degree in IT-Auditing and is a certified ISO 31000 Risk Management Professional.
