Degree in Physics, University of Oxford, UK; doctorate in Particle Physics, working on ZEUS experiment in Hamburg, Germany, looking at structure of proton. Since 1998, with CSIRO, developing radiation-based measurement and imaging systems for minerals and security applications; developed new air cargo scanner than combines neutron and X-ray imaging to identify contraband materials in bulk air freight; currently, heads team of scientists and engineers developing novel solutions to real-world measurement and imaging problems in minerals and security industries. Author of over 90 publications and patents. Recipient of Eureka Prize for development of a world-first air cargo scanning system (2009).
