Jana’s research is focused on developing novel theoretical insight into how entrepreneurial leaders conceptualize new forms of value creation and how they mobilize and govern human and financial resources to engage in coordinated activity towards their respective goals. Based in a social constructionist view, Jana’s research is in particular focused on shaping-oriented approaches to entrepreneurial strategy. These days, Jana is specifically interested in studying how newly emerging technological paradigms impact the coordination of social aggregation and value creation. Her primary research context is in technology ventures. Theoretically, Jana’s research takes place at the intersection of entrepreneurship, strategy, and organization theory. Methodologically, she uses field-based qualitative methods.
Jana holds a PhD in Entrepreneurship from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). Prior to joining the Chair of Entrepreneurship as a senior researcher in February 2017, Jana held research positions at Maastricht University, Netherlands, and ESADE Business School, Barcelona.
