Studied at Vassar College. 1995, Founder, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention. Active in activism and advocacy on environmental issues, human rights and the empowerment of women and girls. Has spearheaded numerous community projects including the Laurel Springs Children's Camp. Trustee and Vice-President, Turner Foundation, providing funding for projects dealing with water quality, prevention and control of toxins, climate, habitat, energy and population. Trustee, Carter Center; Member, Advisory Council, Advocates for Youth; Member, National Board, The Village Foundation, National Task Force on African-American Men and Boys and numerous others. Since 1994, Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund. Producer of films and television shows, including: Coming Home, The China Syndrome, Nine to Five, Rollover, On Golden Pond, The Morning After and The Dollmaker. 1982, made Jane Fonda's Workout. Recipient of numerous nominations and awards including Best Actress for Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978) and an Emmy for The Dollmaker. Interests: horseback riding, hiking, fly fishing and yoga.
