Jeanette Mwendwa Gitobu is a renewable energy and climate policy expert working at the intersection of energy systems, gender, and social impact. She has led and advised initiatives across Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America. She has held senior roles at the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), including Director and Policy Advisor, supporting policy development, partnerships, and advocacy for just energy transitions in over 20 countries. Her experience spans more than a decade across private equity, supply chains, oil and gas, and renewable energy, including Africa’s first wind–solar–battery hybrid project. Jeanette serves as Vice Chair of Student Energy’s global board, a network of over 50,000 members across 120+ countries, and works to advance women’s leadership and community-driven climate solutions.
