Jerom Canlas

Global Shaper, Manila Hub

Jerom is an interdisciplinary artivist whose roots come from theater, film, and community development. He studied at the Philippine High School for the Arts as a theater arts scholar, and graduated under the BS Community Development program at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

As an actor, writer, director, and producer, Jerom has been part of several theater productions and films. He is Black Canvas' ALAB, spearheading creative community development projects for the collective. Jerom is also the current Vice Curator of Global Shapers Manila Hub, and the co-founder of the independent multimedia collective Kayumanggi Kolektib.

Jerom is passionate in telling stories and developing communities through creative means that are care-based, collaborative, innovative, empowering, and radical.
