With the Energy Secretariat: 2003, Private Secretary to the Energy Secretary; 2004-05, Director-General, Investment Promotion Unit; until 2010, Under-Secretary of Energy Planning and Technological Development; 2010-11, Director-General, Pemex Gas and Basic Petrochemicals; since 9 September 2011, Secretary of Energy of Mexico, responsible for establishing and conducting the country's energy policy, as well as ensuring compliance with the latter, focusing on security, energy diversification and energy saving.
