Jose Fernandez da Ponte is the VP of Global Business Development at PayPal, Inc. where he leads the team focused on digital currencies and distributed ledger technologies.

Prior to PayPal, he held different leadership positions at BBVA, including as EVP of the New Digital Businesses unit driving financial applications of decentralized protocols. As part of his role, Jose has engaged with regulators and policy makers in the US, Europe and Asia on cryptocurrencies and the digital transformation of financial services.
