Julio Martinez is the Head of Social Innovation in Aporta, the social innovation lab of Breca Group, the biggest family business group in Peru with investments in banking, mining, health, tourism and fishing. At Aporta, Julio leads the design of projects that lie between business challenges and social issues in Peru. He also runs a strategy for monitoring and measures impact through Lean Data methods. Julio has vast experience working with rural communities in mining areas designing strategies to generate positive relationships between companies and communities. He also had the opportunity to share his experience in a TEDx event in Peru by the name of “Mining Conflicts as an Opportunity to Development”. Julio is Global Shaper in the Lima Hub. He also sits on the Advisory Board of Recidar, a social enterprise focused on “dignifying purchases” in urban marginalized communities in Lima. Julio is co-founder of Kunan, an organization that helps social startups achieve their goals and increase their impact, through an annual award that unites purpose drive enterprises into the social innovation ecosystem in Peru. Julio is committed to combine social innovation solutions with current business challenges.
