Secretary-General, Self-Employed Women's Association (SEWA)

Graduate in commerce. Tobacco worker. With SEWA: from 1992, Coordinator, Kheda / Anand district, where most women work in tobacco factories; was in charge of organizing 170,000 women tobacco workers from 600 villages of Kheda / Anand district, aiming for full employment and social security services such as child care and healthcare, among others; elected as Secretary by 0.6 million members; currently, General Secretary, looking after the activities of 1.9 million members.
