Currently, Member of Parliament; senior-most Parliamentarian in the Parliament of India, having been elected for 9 terms since 1980. Has served on various Parliamentary Committees; currently, Member, Standing Committee on Commerce; Member, Consultative Committee, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Served as Speaker Protem and administered oath/affirmation to the newly elected members.
