Kaori Iida currently serves as Head of Digital News Department at NHK. Previously, she was the editor of NHK's flagship news program "News Watch 9" and prior to that, the LA Bureau Chief covering everything tech (2017-2019).

Kaori was also the Senior Economic Correspondent in Washington DC (2004-2008) covering the lead up to the Financial Crisis, the US-Japan beef negotiations, financial sanctions, climate change and other social topics such as adoption, abortion and obesity.

Through her career as a reporter and the anchor of NHK's nightly business news program (“Biz Plus” from 2010 to 2014), she has had the opportunity to interview an eclectic group of leaders and innovators, including Elon Musk, Jack Dorsey, Hank Paulson, Christine Lagarde and Lady Gaga.

She has also moderated numerous sessions at the World Economic Forum and the IMF.
