Karin Finkelston is Vice President for Global Partnerships at IFC, a member of the World Bank Group and the largest global development institution focused on the private sector. She leads IFC's efforts with government and private partners to create high impact business opportunities that solve development challenges in emerging markets. Prior to taking up this position in October 2014, Ms Finkelston was IFC's Vice President for Asia Pacific, Director East Asia Pacific, and Country Manager China and Mongolia. She built IFC's China business, investing with local entrepreneurs and banks, and she also led IFC's expansion in Asia's frontier countries. She joined IFC as an Investment Officer in 1996. Before joining IFC, Ms Finkelston was a Vice President at Manufacturers Hanover Trust Company in New York and Hong Kong, and she led a team in Hanoi advising and implementing Vietnam's first privatization transactions. She has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College.
