Katarina Novakova

President, Blue Horizon International

Katarina Novakova was born and raised in former Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia), where she experienced the societal transition from communism, shaping her long-standing interest in economic transformation, institutional resilience, and global cooperation.

She holds a Master’s degree in Economics with a focus on Business Management and is fluent in English, Czech, and Slovak, with working knowledge of Polish and German.

Ms. Novakova has lived and worked across Europe and the United States, including more than 15 years in New York City. She now resides outside of Nashville, Tennessee. Her personal and professional experiences have fostered a strong commitment to cross-cultural dialogue and bridge-building between regions and sectors.

She is a lifetime member of NEXUS and serves in advisory and governance roles across nonprofit and philanthropic organizations. Her civic engagement includes board service, faith-based community leadership, and support of international humanitarian initiatives.

In recognition of her contributions to community empowerment and international engagement, Ms. Novakova received an Achievement Award from the Society of Foreign Consuls in New York City, presented in the presence of diplomatic representatives, the Slovak Consul General, and a member of the United States Congress. She was also a nominee for the World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders programme in 2019.

Since joining Blue Horizon International in 2011, Ms. Novakova has played a key role in advancing research and international collaboration in regenerative medicine. She later led the establishment of a research and treatment center in Slovakia, supporting patients from multiple regions and contributing to the responsible development of innovative health solutions.

Ms. Novakova currently serves as President of Blue Horizon International and is actively involved in philanthropic fundraising and research advancement through charitable foundations in both the United States and the European Union.

A member of the World Economic Forum’s New Champions community, Ms. Novakova is committed to responsible innovation, inclusive growth, and cross-sector collaboration. She shares the Forum’s view that successfully navigating the Fourth Industrial Revolution is one of the defining challenges of our time and seeks to contribute to solutions that align technological progress with societal and human needs.
