Kawthar Karout

Kawthar is a energy and environmental engineering student at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Since the age of 14, Kawthar has been active in the issues of human rights. She was a volunteer in different organizations that supported refugees in Sweden, e.g. Red Cross, Workers’ Educational Association (ABF). At the age of 18, she started up the youth section of the United Nations Association in Örebro region in Sweden. By the age of 19, she became the UNA’s ambassador of the sustainable development goals which encouraged her to start and organize different projects on a local, national, European and international level that help in reaching the goals. Today, she is a fellow for the Institute of Canadian Citizenship and European Policy Centre. She is also the co-founder of Crossed Paths of Europe.
