Laura Gordon

Laura Gordon joined The Rockefeller Foundation in 2009. As Managing Director of Communications, Ms. Gordon is responsible for strategic external communications for the Foundation President and Foundation Initiatives. In her role, Ms. Gordon coordinates strategy to advance the Foundation’s messages and support and leverage the work of its grantees through all communication’s avenues.

Prior to joining The Rockefeller Foundation, Ms. Gordon spent three years working for New York City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn, where she supported Speaker Quinn in her communications division spearheading rapid response, education, and human services communications. Prior to her role in the communications division, Ms. Gordon worked in Speaker Quinn’s Policy division, where she conceived of, researched, wrote, and released major investigative reports on a variety of City issues from underbanked neighborhoods to charity care at NYC hospitals. Prior to her work in Speaker Quinn’s office, Ms. Gordon was a news editor at NBC news, with a focus on domestic breaking news.

Ms. Gordon holds a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University, where she majored in Government with a focus on international affairs.
