Mexican Global Health Consultant & Youth Empowerment advocate. Member of Global Shapers Barcelona. Hub. Former One Young World Coordinating Ambassador for Central America during 2019-2020.

A Genomic Biotechnologist by the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, and graduate of the Master in Public Health (International Health) by the University of Nottingham, Besares is an advocate for Global Health challenges, such as Infectious Diseases, Vaccines, Children and Adolescents Health, Non-Communicable Diseases, Health Promotion, Health Diplomacy, and Health Stakeholders Management.

In 2013, he was the first President of BIDESIDA UANL, a student initiative that he co-founded, focused on the Prevention of the HIV/AIDS among the youth. Member of the Youth Council of the United States Consulate General in Monterrey between 2014 and 2016. Winner of the Chevening Scholarship of the British Government in 2016. Master´s Dissertation based on a Systematic Review of Zika Virus Diagnosis by Serology.

UK FCO Chevening and US State Department Alumnus, he has been recognised among the “100 Young Leaders of the Biotechnology in Latin America” by Allbiotech in 2017, one of the “100 Leaders of Tomorrow in Biotechnology” by Global Biotech Revolution in 2018, and one of the “150 Future Leaders” at Shaping Horizons 2019.

Manuel participates in his free time as a peer reviewer for Scientific Magazines, and he supports health-based initiatives.
