With Mexico City government including: General Secretary, Public Security Secretary and Social Inclusion Secretary; 1997, independent Federal Deputy to Mexican Congress; 2006, Mayor of Mexico: outlined priorities including tackling financial crime, promotion of social inclusion, rights of women and minorities, public and private investment and economy based on knowledge; prioritized education for young through scholarships; created green plan to reduce carbon emissions; described as the new leader of Mexico's mainstream left, Le Monde newspaper. Recipient of World Mayor Prize, City Mayors Foundation (2010).
