Marguerite Bérard has been appointed to the Executive Board of ABN AMRO Bank N.V. as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chair, effective 23 April 2025. As CEO she is responsible for Audit, Legal & Corporate Office, Strategy & Sustainability, Brand, Marketing & Communications and HR (except for Facility/Workplace Management).
Marguerite was the head of BNP Paribas French Commercial and Personal Banking and a member of the Group's Executive Committee between January 2019 and March 2024. In this role, she oversaw Corporate, Private and Retail banking operations, including Hello Bank, managing a workforce of 22,000.
Marguerite served as a member of the Management Board of BPCE Group (Banques Populaires, Caisses d’Epargne, Natixis) between 2016 and 2018, where she oversaw Finance, Strategy, Legal Affairs and Compliance. She had joined the Group in 2012 to head Strategy, Legal Affairs and Compliance within the General Management Committee.
Marguerite started her career in 2004 with the French Ministry of Finance. She then became Advisor on Employment and Social Affairs to the office of the President of the French Republic between 2007 and 2010. In 2011- 2012, Marguerite was Chief of Staff of the Minister for Labour, Employment and Health.
Marguerite holds an educational background in economics and public policy. She studied both in France and in the USA.
