From 1980, more than 10 years with the World Bank, as an Economist and Financial Analyst, East Asian and Southern African regions, covering projects in Burma, Malawi, Swaziland and Uganda. Then returned to Uganda and went into private business involving broadcasting, publishing, real estate and economic consulting. Former: Managing Director, Radio One and Radio Two, Uganda. 2011, appointed Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development; ex-officio Member of Parliament of Uganda. Former Member: Presidential Economic Commission; Presidential Investors Roundtable. Former Non-Executive Director, Board of Directors: Agha Khan Foundation (East Africa); The Nabagereka Development Trust; Nkumba University; Uganda Development Bank; Stanbic Bank Uganda.
