Miriam Chaum is Uber’s Head of Work, Economic Policy and Advanced Technologies. In this role, she works closely with Uber’s local policy, product, and operations teams to advance policies that protect access and flexibility and strengthen security for the over 7 million people around the world who use Uber's platforms to earn, pave the way for the safe introduction of automated vehicles in shared fleets, and allow innovative technologies to help connect people in the real world at scale, one trip or delivery at a time. Miriam has spent her career leveraging market forces and market-based solutions to address social and environmental policy issues across the public, private, and non-profit sectors in the U.S. and abroad. She joined Uber in 2018 from an education technology start-up, where she led strategy, planning, and analytics and performance measurement. Miriam previously worked as public sector consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and as a senior policy advisor to central government in New Zealand. Miriam holds a BA in public policy and international affairs from Princeton University.
