Alumni, Global Shapers Community

Early 2015 I started my PhD in Digital Media at the University of Hull (UK) as a milestone in my academic career. In my research, I am interested in proposing a new model of youth – government interaction on social media through dialogue on entrepreneurship. In 2009, I graduated with bachelors of Business Administration and joined the academic career. Today, I am a senior Teaching Assistant at the College of Management and Technology and an active member in The Strategic entrepreneurship centre at The Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport. In 2012 and 2014 I have published two academic papers outlining the impact of social networking sites on youth engagement in politics and the civic society. Moreover, I aspire to empower the community with my knowledge and research on the topic of social media. Accordingly, I conduct training on social media to different NGOs and social initiatives. Also, I participate with my knowledge of social media in different developmental initiatives fostering change to the community, like Cross Egypt Challenge (promotes safe tourism in Egypt), Lotus Foundation (fostering cultural dialogue). Further to that, I have been a member of The Rotary family for 12 years. Specifically Past President and Past Chairperson to the biggest Rotaract Conference. Working as a lecturer and striving to participate in different developmental initiatives, I continue to agree that education and research are amongst the top priorities in the development of my beloved home country, Egypt.
