Muhammad Abubakar champions sustainable development and climate resilience in South Asia, integrating deep academic research with impactful societal initiatives. With a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, he has effectively influenced policy and enhanced welfare across Pakistan.

In his role as the founding Chairman of the Board of Governors at the University of Rawalpindi, Muhammad is spearheading the establishment of this new institution. He is setting its strategic vision and foundational pillars, ensuring it will serve as a landmark of educational innovation. As the university meticulously prepares for its inaugural admissions cycle, his leadership is guiding its journey from conceptualization towards becoming a vibrant educational community. This pioneering work complements his contributions as Director and Board member at The University of Faisalabad, where he actively furthers education and development.

Muhammad's academic foundation, built on a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics from the National University of Sciences & Technology, has paved the way for a distinguished career. His leadership at the Fiza Foundation underlines his commitment to broad-reaching educational initiatives, emphasizing equitable and inclusive learning opportunities.

A dedicated advocate for youth engagement, Muhammad established the Global Shapers Faisalabad Hub and co-founded Youth for Peace. These platforms have enabled him to lead initiatives for economic and social enhancement and climate resilience advocacy.

As a certified Climate Reality Leader, he has made significant strides with the Advocating Climate Action project, sensitizing over 600,000 individuals to the urgency of climate action through innovative radio broadcasts. Muhammad's commitment to positive change has been acknowledged with several awards, including the British Council's National Social Action Project Award and the CSR Award from the National Forum for Environment and Health.
