Muhammad Nawaz Sharif

Studied at Government College, Lahore; degree in Law, Punjab University. Managed family enterprises, then appointed Minister of Finance, Provincial Cabinet, Punjab. 1985, Chief Minister of Punjab; 1988, re-elected. 1990, Prime Minister of Pakistan; 1997 and 2013, re-elected Prime Minister; introduced major economic reforms in the spirit of free enterprise, privatization and deregulation. Has encouraged the development of the private sector and given more emphasis to the development of the social sector. Committed to upholding democratic values and traditions. Made contributions to regional peace and stability.
