Munira holds a Bachelor in International Studies and Journalism. She returned to Sri Lanka in 2014 as a Social Change Entrepreneur with the United Nations Population Fund, and has worked towards her interest for visual content, creative communities and social innovation to found Colombo Design Market, Sri Lanka's first marketplace for designers and craftsmen, and Roar.lk - a socially conscious and constructive content platform for Sri Lanka.
Munira is a Fellow of The Do School - Entrepreneurship for Good program 2016 (Germany) and is currently working on strengthening social cohesion by cultivating visual stories from local communities, using photography and hopes the GSC community will fuel her knowledge and implementation of the venture, among her other endeavours.
