Formerly: economic research on US trade and investment relations with developing countries, US Commerce Department; with US Treasury Department: Office of International Monetary Policy; Office of International Trade Policy; Treasury representative in Uruguay Round of trade negotiations and early NAFTA negotiations; Deputy Director, Office of Asian and Near East Nations; 1997-99, Director, Office of Central and Eastern Europe; Director, Office of Mideast and Central Asia; currently, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Eurasia, responsible for economic and financial issues in US relations with 28 countries, including Russia, Ukraine, the Caucasus, Central Asia, Southeast Europe and other transition economies of Europe. Recipient of award, Meritorious Executive Presidential Rank Award (2001).
