Nelly Cetera

Impact Officer, Buenos Aires Hub

I am Nelly Cetera, a 24-year-old Argentinian woman, who graduated from International Affairs. I am passionate about Equal-Education-For-All and Youth Empowerment.
I currently work at Junior Achievement, one of the most impactful NGOs working for the economic empowerment of youth, and current Nobel Peace Prize Nominee. I am a Fundraising and Partnerships Creation Analyst, supporting our work through creating collaborations with our public and private donors. Additionally, I lead our Regional Alumni Network, after co-founding the Argentinian JA Alumni network at the age of 19. By the time I moved from the National to the Regional network, our events, and initiatives in Argentina had impacted more than 600 youth. On the regional level, I support the creation of national Alumni chapters. Through my work, in one year we expanded from having 6 national chapters to having 14, increasing the number of youth impacted by the activities by over 100%. Additionally, I organized the first-ever in-person regional event of JA Alumni in the Americas.
In 2021 I joined the Global Shapers Buenos Aires hub. In 2022, I led a digital inclusion project for underserved youth. Since 2023, I have been a member, and from this year, the leader, of STEM UP, a project promoting women's leadership in STEM careers. So far, we have trained +200 women on leadership skills and created over 100 mentoring relationships between participants and experienced STEM professionals. Lastly, I am a member of Green Recess, a project focused on educating vulnerable children on Climate Change. We won a Climate Reality grant through this project, through which we aim to train 100 more children.
For the past 2 years, I have been leading the Climate Task Team of Theirworld to advocate for climate education for youth globally. Additional commitments include being a Senior Fellow, Mentor, and current member of the strategic planning committee at the Melton Foundation community, belonging to the United People Global Community, and being a graduate of the YouthLead Ambassador program by USAID.
