Leads group studying mathematical modelling, algorithms and data analysis for genomics and evolution research, with applications in clinical research. Co-leader of synthetic biology team investigating the use of DNA as a digital archive medium that could replace conventional hard disks, magnetic tape, DVDs. Has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers. TEDx speaker 2013; EuroScience Open Forum speaker 2014.
